Grateful Greens is Certified Organic by CCOF. We use organic seed and soil and are committed to growing organically. In addition, we politically support the organic movement. We feel that this is the best way to assure what you put in your mouth supports your health and well-being.
Grateful Greens is audited for Food Safety by Merieux NutriSciences (formerly known as Silliker Laboratories), one of the foremost Food Safety Auditing and Education organizations in the world. We have received a Superior Rating, the highest rating available, for 12 years running. Our team is trained on a quarterly basis in order to maintain focus on these important Food Safety Standards. Most importantly, Food Safety is part of our culture.
We harvest the greens the morning of the day of delivery. Within minutes of harvest, the greens are placed in cold storage at 38 degrees. They are chilled to a pulp temperature of 38 degrees prior to being placed in a refrigerated van for delivery. The greens are delivered at a temperature between 34 and 40 degrees.
